From Our Home

Some things have been part of Aurora Haven long before they ever had a place on a store shelf.

Apple butter simmered down slowly. Jams and fruit jellies made from the season’s harvest. Produce gathered when the garden is giving more than we can possibly use at once. Jars put away because preserving what we grow has always been part of life here.

The Aurora Haven Pantry is where those familiar pieces of our home will finally have a home of their own.

Coming next year to The Raven’s Nest General Store, the Pantry will bring together preserved foods, seasonal harvests, herbs, extracts, vinegars, and other small-batch goods inspired by the way we actually live at Aurora Haven.

Familiar Favorites

Some of the first Pantry shelves will hold the things friends and family have already come to know from our home: apple butter, homemade jams, fruit jellies, seasonal produce and canned goods.

These aren't products invented for a store. They're the things we've been making, growing and putting away all along.

Something New is Brewing

The Pantry also gives us room to explore new ways of preserving the harvest.

Expect dried herb bundles, flavored extracts, infused vinegars and seasonal pantry creations, with more added as the gardens, orchards and seasons inspire us.

A Pantry Through the Seasons

The Best part.png

1. What We Grow

The Aurora Haven Pantry begins outside its own door. Gardens, herbs, fruit and seasonal harvests influence what we make and what eventually reaches the shelves.

2. What We Keep

Preserving allows a season to linger a little longer.

Some harvests will become jars of familiar favorites. Others may become dried herbs, extracts, vinegars or something we haven't thought of yet.

The Pantry will continue to grow alongside Aurora Haven, bringing old favorites and new experiments together under one roof.

From Garden to Pantry

1.

It begins with the season.

Herbs, fruits and vegetables are grown, gathered and selected as they become available throughout the year.

The Pantry will follow the natural rhythm of Aurora Haven rather than trying to make every item available all year. What is growing, ripening and ready to harvest will help determine what appears on the shelves.

2.

Turn the harvest into something worth keeping.

Fruit becomes jams, jellies and apple butter. Vegetables are preserved for later. Herbs are dried and bundled. Other ingredients begin their slow transformation into extracts, vinegars and seasonal pantry goods.

3.

Made in small batches.

Pantry goods are prepared in manageable batches, then jarred, bottled, bundled or packaged for the Raven's Nest. Small-batch production lets the Pantry remain connected to what is actually being grown and made at Aurora Haven.

4.

From Aurora Haven to your home.

Finished Pantry goods make their way to The Raven's Nest General Store, giving visitors a chance to take home a little piece of the season and the traditions practiced here.
